Three numbers, one tape measure

How to measure yourself for a recliner

Height alone hides the part that matters in a chair: where your legs and torso fall. Golden Technologies' sizing guide lists three seated measurements and the spec each one maps to. Take them sitting in a chair you already find comfortable.

A: floor to knee bendB: chair back to knee bendC: seat totop of head
A, B and C as used by the finder.
  1. A. Floor to the bend of the knee. Feet flat, shoes off or the shoes you wear at home. Measure straight down from the crease behind the knee. Golden maps this to "floor to top of seat".
  2. B. Back of the chair to the bend of the knee. Sit all the way back so your spine touches the chair back. Measure along the top of the thigh line to the knee crease. Maps to "seat depth".
  3. C. Seat to the top of the head. Sit upright and have someone lay a book flat on your head. Measure from the seat cushion to the book. Maps to "seat to top of back".
Golden's guide adds that springs, padding and how a cushion compresses under body weight change how numbers feel, and that its chart is no guarantee of fit or basis for a return. Read the guide (read Nov 5, 2026).

So for massage chairs the finder can only use your height and, for Human Touch, seat height and depth. For Golden lift recliners it can use all three.

Writing the numbers down

Round to the nearest half inch. Measure twice; a 1 in slip on A moves you past several Golden models, since their Large seats run from 19.5 to 22 in high.
